In an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union has identified nonprofit organizations to provide financial support to. In Islandia, Branch Manager Nancy Aurora presents a $1,000 contribution to The Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS).
“I envision a community that is free from all forms of abuse and the programs offered at VIBS advocate for societal changes that will eliminate or decrease violence and abuse,” said Aurora. “At Suffolk Federal, we are extremely proud to make this donation in support of such an incredible organization.”
“We’re so thankful to everyone at Suffolk Federal for their support and generosity,” said Reina Schiffrin, Executive Director of VIBS. “These funds will go a long way in helping VIBS (Family Violence and Rape Crisis Center) create futures free of violence by serving thousands of survivors in Suffolk County.”
Established in 1976, VIBS has been a pioneer in the domestic violence and crisis movements. Their mission is to assist survivors of violence, assault, abuse and human trafficking, to prevent the incidence of these crimes through education and service and to raise community awareness of the need for justice and compassion for victims.
