Suffolk Federal Provides Holiday Magic this Season with Big Brothers, Big Sisters

beanie pal photoThe holidays are quickly approaching, and while this time of year is a much anticipated one for many, for others experiencing financial troubles, it can be anything but cheery. To help lessen that burden and make the holiday season a little brighter for local families in need, Suffolk Federal is encouraging its members to spare their extra change as they collect donations for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Long Island’s “Holidays for Kids’ Sake” program.

The national mentoring organization’s annual holiday fundraiser provides meals, gifts and other necessities to more than 100 families and nearly 300 children in the area. From November 12th through December 21st, Suffolk Federal will support those efforts by inviting the public and its members to stop by any of Suffolk Federal’s 10 branch locations and participate in the Suffolk Federal (SF) Beanie Pal Fundraiser. Those who donate $10 or more will be able to take home an adorable beanie bear or dog, a perfect holiday gift for someone special. It is a great way to make a difference this holiday season and contribute to this important cause.

“The holidays are a magical time, especially for children, which is why each year, we continue our partnership with the wonderful organization of Big Brothers, Big Sisters to ensure everyone is able to celebrate together with food on their tables and presents under their trees,” said Keith Miller, Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer of Suffolk Federal and Big Brothers Big Sisters LI President’s Council member.

Those who make any size donation during the month-long campaign will be provided a personalized contribution card that will be displayed at the local branch where the contribution was made.

“We always say Suffolk Federal members are the best around, and their generosity and willingness to assist families who are unable to provide for their children during the holiday season continues to prove that sentiment and amaze us year after year,” said Ralph D. Spencer, President & CEO of Suffolk Federal.
