A top priority at Suffolk Federal is to give back to the communities it serves. As Suffolk County is home to more veterans than any county in New York State, and more than most other counties in the entire nation, the credit union annually commits to supporting the ongoing needs of these individuals. Recently, Suffolk Federal contributed $1,000 to Airborne Tri Team, a nonprofit organization that is dedicating to providing means to achieve a better quality of life for veterans in need.
“We are extremely proud to support Airborne Tri Team because we believe in the work they do for veterans,” said Ralph D. Spencer, Jr., President & CEO at Suffolk Federal. “So many men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation by laying down their lives to protect our freedoms. But what we must remember always, is that their fight doesn’t always end when they return home. They are faced with significant challenges as they work to adapt to civilian life. At Suffolk Federal, we feel that it is our responsibility to show the same dedication and commitment to our veterans and their families that they have shown to serving our country.”
“Thanks to Suffolk Federal, we will be able to provide greater assistance to our veterans in need of support during their transition,” said Ronald Hurtado, U.S. ARMY Staff Sargent, Afghanistan war veteran and Airborne Tri Team Founder. “Generous donations like this allow us to focus on helping our veterans through team-building activities and personal growth opportunities.”

About The Airborne Tri Team
Airborne Tri Team is a nonprofit organization specifically designed for mentally and physically challenged war veterans. The central focus of ATT is to provide war veterans with opportunities, physical challenges and goal oriented physical achievements to maximize their potential and increase their self-esteem all by being part of a Team. Self-Esteem is fundamental and promotes the development of physical, social and emotional well-being. ATT encompasses this essential element of well-being in activities such as sports and fitness to promote social and, for physically injured, motor development.
