Miller Place Branch Supports The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club

the check presentation to the club membersIn an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union has identified nonprofit organizations to provide financial support to. In Miller Place, Branch Manager Gregory Bryan presents a $1,000 contribution to The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club.

“The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club is doing great work in our local community,” said Bryan. “They bring together people from across our surrounding communities to help improve the lives of local residents here in Suffolk County. We are extremely happy to be able to assist their efforts and do our part.”

“The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club raises more than $10,000 per year to feed more than 120 families in need during the holiday season,” said Dean Jenkins, Port Jefferson Lion’s Club President. “Our club and the volunteers within the community pack and deliver the food to these families. This generous donation from Suffolk Federal will be a great help in this effort.”

In 1946, a group of local residents who wanted to improve and give back to their community formed The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club. Every penny raised is donated to charity to help those in need.
