Announcing the All American Pet Paw-rade & Adoption Celebration

Dog with shadesJuly 4th will be coming early to Suffolk Federal as pets of all kinds prepare to showcase their American Patriotism during Suffolk Federal’s Spectacular All American Pet Paw-rade & Adoption Celebration. The event will take place at the Suffolk Federal Medford Branch (3681 Horseblock Road) on Saturday, June 16 from 11-2pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

This fun community program will provide a platform for animal welfare organizations to display at the event and share information, encourage pet adoption and build awareness for their efforts to protect animals, promote humane treatment, provide education for responsible animal ownership and care and provide crisis programs for animals in need.

A highlight of the day’s celebration will be an All American themed Pet Paw-rade which will take place at 12 noon. “Pupparrazzi” and pet fashion spectators will be lining up in the Suffolk Federal parking lot to cheer on pet “Super Models” along with their owners as they strut their outfits on the “Cat Walk” sporting a variety of All American fashions and themes. The Paw-rade is open to the public. Anyone planning to march with their pet should meet at the designated area at Suffolk Federal no later than 11:30 am. To participate, pet owners are asked to bring a donation of pet food to support the Pet Pantry operated by Long Island Cares– The Harry Chapin Food Bank that provides food to family pets in need through their network. All participants must sign in at the event. The first 50 Paw-rade participants will receive a ‘swag bag’ for their pet as well.

“Pets are an important part of our families and of our community, and this is a fantastic and fun way to celebrate them and to support those who help our rescues and promote animal adoption,” explained Ralph D. Spencer, Jr., President & CEO of Suffolk Federal. “If we can help or support one pet in need or assist one organization to help a rescue pet and make a difference, we will have accomplished our mission,” he added.

In addition to the Pet “Paw-rade,” the day’s Pet Adoption activities will also include:

  • Local Animal Adoption and Rescue Services for All Types of Pets
  • PetPlan® Pet Insurance
