SECURITY FEATURES OVERVIEW
To better protect your Suffolk FCU accounts online, we have instituted security features recommended by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). All financial institutions were required to meet these guidelines by year end of 2006.

 

 LOG-IN WALKTHROUGH


Logging In for the First Time in our Enhanced System
The first time you log in you are required to enroll in our enhanced security system. Please follow these steps to register:

STEP 1: Click on the link entitled:
     Click "Begin" to update your account for Multi-Factor Authentication. 

STEP 2: Enter your Member Number, Access Code/PIN,
     and the
Random Code then click "Submit."

STEP 3: Create your three Authentication Questions and Answers.

STEP 4: Enter a Security Key.
     Enter your email address. (optional)
     Read and accept the
Online Account Access Disclosure.
     Click "Submit."

Logging In for the Second (and Subsequent) Time(s)
The second time you log in to our new system, you may begin your login on our home page. Follow these steps:

STEP 1:   (if you have completed the above security update)

STEP 2
: Enter your
Member Number and the Random Code
     then click "Enter."

STEP 3: Answer the Authentication Question (if asked)
     then click "Submit."

STEP 4: Check your Security Key.
     Enter your
Access Code/PIN.
     Choose
to register or not to register 
your computer.
     Click "Enter."

Member number
Use your Suffolk FCU Member Number with no zeroes in front or letters at the end.

Access Code/PIN
For your Access Code/PIN, use your four digit
Member Telephone Service (MTS) PIN (numbers only). This is the PIN you chose for touch tone telephone access to your Suffolk FCU accounts.

If you do not remember your MTS PIN or would like to request one, please contact our Call Center at 631-924-8000.

Random Code
To protect accounts against login attempts by unauthorized parties, you will be presented with a Random Code that you will need to enter on the same page with your member number. Since this code can’t be easily read by a computer as text, it thwarts automated attempts by unauthorized parties to access your account.

Authentication Questions and Answers
The first time you access the enhanced system, you will be asked to create three sets of questions and answers using information known only to you. You will be asked one of these questions at random on a subsequent sign in if you haven’t registered that computer during a previous session with Suffolk FCU, or if you’ve deleted cookies from your browser.

Security Key
When you access the enhanced system for the first time, you’ll be prompted to create a Security Key consisting of a word and/or numbers. On each future sign in, you will need to verify that the Security Key you created is the one on display before you submit your access code/PIN. This feature gives you verification that you are at our site and not at a copycat site. It also lets you know that you can safely enter your access code/PIN. Your Security Key will also display on pages containing your account information.

Software Credential (registering your computer)
After your initial login you will be asked if you would like to register your computer with Suffolk FCU’s Online Banking. Once registered, a software credential is added to your system which identifies you on future logins, so you won’t be asked a challenge question.

You can de-register your computer at any time, or you can register multiple computers, such as home and work. If you delete cookies from your browser, you will also delete your software credential.

These four factors will add a whole new dimension to the safety and security of Online Banking. You will have confirmation that you are accessing a legitimate site, and we will have verification that only authorized users are able to sign in. It is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping your information safe.

NLINE ACCESS ENHANCEMENTS
New features added to our Online Account Access service put you in control of your finances. Managing your accounts online will be more convenient. Best of all, it’s still free. Here are some of the enhancements you’ll see:

Account Access Code/MTS PIN Reset
You can change your Access Code/PIN by selecting “Change PIN” under the "Options" tab. The next time you log on, you’ll use your new PIN. Change it as often as you like to keep your information secure.

If you forget your Access Code/PIN, click on "Forgot PIN?" on our homepage and reset it by supplying details about your account information. No more filling out forms and waiting for a reply.

Secure Messaging
We’ve made it easier to ask questions and get information about your accounts. Once you’ve logged on to your Suffolk FCU accounts, you can send us a secure message and receive replies at our new messaging and security area. Communicate with us confidently, knowing that your account details will not be sent “in the clear” as they would be if they were sent by conventional email.

Want more information about an account or a specific transaction? Just click on the question mark icon next to the entry. The details will automatically appear in your message, so you can just type your question and submit it immediately.

Secured messaging eliminates the need for secure forms. You won’t waste time hunting for the right link to make your request.

Customize your Account
Be in control of your online account’s appearance and functionality by choosing the start page, timeout period, and other account features. You can even create custom color combinations for a personal look.

Expanded Account Options
Sort your account activity by date, amount, balance, or description. Keep track of ATM withdrawals, debits, and deposits. We’ve increased your exporting options, so you can transfer information to a spreadsheet or money management software.

You’ll find an enhanced scheduled transfer section and robust alert options. Send yourself a message to your email or directly to the message center in your account.

Monitor Account Activity
Keep track of your online accounts by reviewing your transactions and checking on log in activity. You’ll get information on the date, time, and IP address used each time the account is accessed.
