A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT/CEO

William J. O’Brien officially took the helm of Suffolk Federal Credit Union on February 1, 2008.  Mr. O’Brien has relocated from southern California and is excited to be here at Suffolk Federal Credit Union. 

He has over 25 years experience in banking and most recently was the Chief Operations Officer of NuVision Federal Credit Union, an $800 million credit union.  Mr. O’Brien’s responsibilities included the branch network and member services, marketing, lending, and the call center just to name a few.

Prior to NuVision, Mr. O’Brien was the Senior Vice President of Operations at Kinecta Federal Credit Union of California, a $4 billion credit union.  He was again directly responsible for all operations.  Mr. O’Brien’s work experience includes other institutions of various sizes such as Bank of America and Fifth Third Bank at management levels that required leadership with a focus on results.

Mr. O’Brien’s goals are to have the best member services in Suffolk Federal’s marketplace and to have an efficient operation to continue the already great products and services that exist at Suffolk Federal Credit Union today.

When asked what drew himself to Suffolk Federal Credit Union, Mr. O’Brien felt it was a good fit between the requirements to be the President/CEO of Suffolk Federal Credit Union and his experiences and skills set.

In a way, Mr. O’Brien is returning home as he grew up in New Jersey, where he received an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and was active in his community.  Mr. O’Brien is married to Leslie and they together enjoy their three beautiful girls, ages 10, 8 and 6.  We welcome Mr. O’Brien to Suffolk Federal Credit Union and wish him the greatest success.
